12月に入りいろいろなとこでクリスマスの飾りつけを見るようになりましたね！！
故郷苑でもクリスマスツリーやリースなどたくさん飾られていますよ(^_-)

では今週のお花を紹介します。
まずはエントランスから！

大きなモンステラがとっても迫力ありますね！！
The big monstera is very powerful, isn't it?
ハサミで切り取って作ったかのような美しいデザインですね！！
そんな葉っぱの間の穴や切れ込みから光が差し込む様子から、ハワイでは「希望の光を導く」といった言い伝えがあるようです。
風水では金運を招くとされているようなので、お家に観葉植物として飾るのにも最適ですね。

上に向かって伸びているこちらの植物は石化柳です。
この石化というのは茎が帯化（たいか）する事を言います。
くねくねと曲がる特徴的な形をしていることから
生け花ではよく扱われるようです。

こちらはアルストロメリアです。
初夏から秋にかけて、ユリに似た優美で存在感ある花を咲かせることから、「インカの百合」という別名もあります。
アルストロメリアの種類・品種は約100種類以上あるとされており、毎年新たな品種が次々に生まれています。
とても覚えるのは大変そうですね！

こちらの赤い実はおなじみのピペリカムです。
紫色の花はアランダです。
This red fruit is the familiar Pipericum.
The purple flowers are Aranda.
小さくて白いお花はカスミソウです。
カスミソウは英語で赤ちゃんの吐息という意味の「baby's-breath(ベイビーズブレス)」。
ベイビーは愛しい人も意味し、海外でも幸せなイメージを抱かせる花のようですね。
学名の「Gypsophila（ギプソフィラ）」の語源は、ギリシャ語の「gypsos（石膏）」と「philein（好む）」。
この花が石灰質の土壌を好んで育つことに由来するそうです。
花言葉は「清らかな心」「無邪気」「感謝」です。
最初の2つはイメージから納得ですがなぜ、「感謝」なのかわかりますか？
昔は、バラと一緒にカスミソウがふわふわとあしらわれ、花束には欠かせない花でした。
お礼の気持ちを託す花束に使われていたことから、この花言葉がついたそうです。
それでは最後はロビーです。

こちらの赤いお花はケイトウです。
ケイトウは何度か紹介したことがありますが、種類によって見た目が様々なのであれ？と思うことも多いです。
花の形がニワトリのトサカに似ているため、「鶏頭」に由来してケイトウという名前がつきました。
英名にでも、ニワトリのトサカを表す「Cockscomb」という名前がついています。

こちらはアンスリュームです。
他にも赤いお花を中心にドラセナやカーネーションなども生けてありました！！
